The increase in toll rates is substantial this year, at +2% on a majority of sections. Some presidential candidates promise to renationalize the highways. What do users think?

Taking the highway costs more since Tuesday, February 1. Toll rates are increasing, by +2% on average on the national network. It’s the biggest increase in four years and motorists are grumbling. “It’s unacceptable, because life is expensive, there are always traffic jams, works”said a driver. “We suffer everything”summarizes a motorist.

The price increases vary according to the concessions, from +1.89% on the Sanef network to +2.19% for the motorways in the south of France. On the side of Grenoble (Isère), the same story of motorists, who denounce a new increase after that of fuel prices. Motorist associations recall that during the Yellow Vests crisis, companies had been able to make efforts for drivers and limit the increase in tolls.
