Lando Norris wins Dutch Grand Prix ahead of Max Verstappen, Pierre Gasly in top 10

On the Zandvoort circuit, the Briton won comfortably ahead of Max Verstappen and Charles Leclerc on Sunday.

Max Verstappen will not claim a fourth consecutive victory at the Dutch Grand Prix. After a duel with Lando Norris, the Dutchman lost behind the Briton on Sunday 25 August. At 24, the McLaren driver claims his second victory of the season, after Miami on 5 May, and is closing in on Verstappen in the general classification. Starting in sixth position, Charles Leclerc (Ferrari) – under threat from Oscar Piastri (McLaren) throughout the race – completes the podium.

For Lando Norris, the race didn’t start very well. Starting from pole position, the McLaren driver saw Max Verstappen overtake him on the first corner of the Grand Prix. Patiently, the Briton gradually caught up with the Dutchman, overtaking him on the 18th lap, out of the 72 scheduled. Managing the rest of the race, Landos Norris finally won with a 22-second lead over his runner-up, confirming his good performance in qualifying. Thanks to this success, the Englishman is back, in the general standings, to 71 points behind the leader Verstappen, who has not won a Grand Prix since the one in Spain on June 23.

In the section of great comebacks, Lewis Hamilton (Mercedes), who started in 14th position after receiving a three-place penalty for obstructing a competitor during qualifying, crossed the line in 8th position, just behind his teammate George Russell. 5th at the finish, Carlos Sainz, for his part, gained five places.

On the French side, Pierre Gasly entered the points by taking 9th place in the Grand Prix. The Norman had an excellent start as he gained two places in the first lap, taking the outside in the first corner. His teammate at Alpine, Esteban Ocon, took 15th place.
