Lando Norris is riding his current good form. Winner of the Dutch Grand Prix last weekend, the Briton set the best time in qualifying for the Italian GP (1’19”327), Saturday 31 August, at Monza. The McLaren driver will start in first position on Sunday, where he will be ahead of his teammate Oscar Piastri and his compatriot George Russell (Mercedes), on the starting grid.
Disappointing qualification for Dutchman Max Verstappen (Red Bull). With a time of 1’20″022, the reigning world champion will start in 7th position, just ahead of his teammate, Mexican Sergio Pérez. Best time in Q2, Lewis Hamilton (Mercedes) was unable to confirm his last attempt, and had to settle for 6th position.
Respectively 10th and 17th to start last week in the Netherlands, the French drivers, Pierre Gasly and Esteban Ocon had a complicated afternoon in Italy. Both eliminated in Q2, the Alpine drivers will start in 14th and 15th position on Sunday.
