The McLaren driver set the fastest time in qualifying on Saturday after a session disrupted by rain and two red flags at the Hungaroring.

The rain didn’t stop Lando Norris. The Briton took his second pole position of the season at the Hungarian Grand Prix on Saturday 20 July, after qualifying was marked by some showers. Thanks to an excellent time set in the middle of Q3, the McLaren driver beat his teammate Oscar Piastri and Max Verstappen (Red Bull), who was unable to improve his time after a red flag was brought out for a crash by Yuki Tsunoda (Racing Bulls).
It should be noted that George Russell (Mercedes) did not do better than 17th, his single-seater not having enough fuel to make a new attempt.
