(Saint-Thomas) A woman lost her life when she was involved in a road collision Thursday evening in Saint-Thomas, in Lanaudière.
The incident occurred around 6:15 p.m. on Rang de la Grande-Chaloupe in this municipality located just east of Joliette.
“According to initial information, a first head-to-head collision occurred between two vehicles. Then, a third vehicle collided with the two other vehicles,” explained Sergeant Ève Brochu-Joubert, spokesperson for the Sûreté du Québec (SQ).
The woman who lost her life was in one of the two vehicles that were involved in the initial collision. She suffered serious injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.
The people behind the wheel of the other two vehicles had to be hospitalized, but their injuries are not believed to be life-threatening. Only one occupant was in each vehicle.
An SQ patrol officer trained in collision investigations went to the site to analyze the scene and understand what led to these collisions.
