Lanaudiere | Mountain bike driver dies in Chertsey

(Chertsey) A woman lost her life in an all-terrain vehicle (ATV) accident in Chertsey, in Lanaudière, on Sunday.


The driver, aged in her sixties, lost control of her mountain bike and ended her journey in a ditch where she found herself under her vehicle, according to information from the Sûreté du Québec (SQ).

The woman, who was alone on her mountain bike, but accompanied by another driver on her own vehicle, was transported to a hospital center where her death was declared, explains SQ spokesperson Catherine Bernard.

The accident occurred on federated trail 246, in the MRC de la Matawinie, around 4:30 p.m.

A police officer went to the scene to clarify the causes and circumstances of this accident.
