(L’Assomption) A young child lost his life in hospital after being found injured on Tuesday in a family daycare in L’Assomption, in Lanaudière.
The Sûreté du Québec (SQ), which is investigating this matter, was informed by the L’Assomption/Saint-Sulpice police department.
According to information that the SQ was able to release Wednesday morning, the child, aged less than three years old, had significant injuries when he was transported to hospital. He was pronounced dead in the hours that followed.
It is investigators from the SQ’s crimes against person squad who will shed light on this tragedy. An autopsy and expert assessments will be carried out to contribute to their investigation.
Since the hypothesis of a criminal act had not yet been accepted as of Wednesday morning, no arrests had yet been made.
