Lake of Nations Festival | The Cowboys Fringants cancel their show in Sherbrooke

The Cowboys Fringants cancel the show they were to give in Sherbrooke on Friday because of the treatment that singer Karl Tremblay must undergo. The Simple Plan group will take over.

The organization of the Fête du Lac des Nations made the announcement on Thursday morning, on the eve of the scheduled show.

“Due to the schedule of treatments that the singer of Les Cowboys Fringants must undergo, it will be impossible for him to take the stage during this week’s show. The members of the group promise to recover, as soon as the situation allows it and the Cowboys team would like to thank the fans of Sherbrooke for their support, ”it is written in a press release.

In the same breath, the Fête du Lac des Nations team announced that the band Simple Plan will be performing on the Grande Scène Loto-Québec on Friday. Simple Plan claims to have accepted the request “with humility and with the greatest respect”. “You cannot ‘replace’ a band like the Cowboys, but we’re going to do the best we can to give everyone a great night,” the group said in the release, sending their best wishes for health and recovery to Karl Tremblay and his family.

Last summer, Karl Tremblay announced that he had been diagnosed with prostate cancer two years earlier. He first underwent chemotherapy treatments before starting a new treatment this spring.

The show that the Cowboys Fringuants were to give on July 13 at the Festival d’été de Québec was also canceled at the last minute due to the risk of a violent storm, but the group was able to resume its show four days later.
