(Lake Louise) The training session for the men’s downhill at the Alpine Skiing World Cup in Lake Louise has been canceled.
The weather forecast for this third and final day of training called for cloudy skies and light snowfall, with accumulations of one to three centimeters expected.
On its website, the International Ski Federation explained that the jury and the organizing committee had deemed it preferable to cancel this session to ensure the good condition of the slope.
A downhill is on the program on Friday and the super-G will be presented on Sunday.
Norwegian Aleksander Aamodt Kilde set the fastest time on Wednesday’s training downhill, 42 hundredths of a second ahead of Slovenian Bostjan Kline.
Torontonian Jack Crawford was the top Canadian with a 27e square.
The women’s Lake Louise runs are scheduled to take place on December 3-4. The super-G will follow on December 5th.
The men’s and women’s World Cup events scheduled to take place in Alberta in 2020 have been canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
