Lady Gaga’s dog abductor receives 21-year sentence

(LA) The man who shot Lady Gaga’s dog walker and then stole the singer’s pets was sentenced to 21 years in prison on Monday.

According to the authorities, the suspects did not know, at the time, that the dogs they were trying to steal were those of Lady Gaga. Rather, they were targeting the French bulldogs themselves, since their value can run into the thousands of dollars.

James Howard Jackson, one of three people involved in the violent robbery, pleaded no contest to one count of attempted murder, according to the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office. Two other accomplices were also arrested in connection with this case.

Mr. Jackson and his cronies drove around Hollywood, West Hollywood and the San Fernando Valley on Feb. 24, 2021, “looking for French bulldogs,” according to prosecutors on file. They then came across Ryan Fischer, who was walking Lady Gaga’s three dogs.

During the robbery, Mr. Jackson shot Mr. Fischer.

Mr. Jackson also admitted to inflicting serious bodily harm and to having previously participated in another violent incident, the prosecutor’s office said. He was sentenced to 21 years in prison.

“The plea agreement holds Mr. Jackson responsible for a cold-blooded violent act and brings justice to our victim,” the district attorney’s office said in a statement.
