This is a first for Lady Gaga since the start of her short film career, but it could well be that she passes from laughter to tears in a very short time … The American singer plays Patrizia Reggiani, famous for having had her husband, Maurizio Gucci, murdered in the movie House of Gucci. A performance that earned him the recognition of New York Film Critics Circle, who has just presented her with the trophy for best actress. A great honor for the 35-year-old artist who shares the bill with Salma Hayek, Al Pacino and Adam Driver in this feature film.
Unfortunately, not everything has gone as planned since the film’s theatrical release, especially with the heirs of the Gucci family. AFP reported a letter sent on November 29 to the ANSA news agency, in which the Italian family regrets the way the character of Patrizia Reggiani is treated and in particular the fact that it is presented as “a victim”. “The Gucci family reserves the right to take any initiative to protect its name and image, as well as those of those close to it”, specifies the letter. A complaint is thus considered.
A treatment of the facts that does not pass
Obviously very upset against the way in which Ridley Scott staged the story of their family, the Guccis do not understand the treatment accorded to the character played by Lady Gaga, although it is a “woman convicted of having ordered the murder of Maurizio Gucci”. Another grievance is blamed on the film: the way the founder, Aldo Gucci, and his relatives appear on the screen. According to the heirs of the Italian family, they pass them off as “hooligans, ignorant and insensitive to the world around them”.
