(Lachute) Two young men were found seriously injured, near a burnt down building in Lachute in the Laurentians on Friday morning.
At around 3:45 a.m., the Sûreté du Québec (SQ) received a phone call about a fire in a business being renovated.
Almost at the same time, “the police received a report concerning two individuals in very bad shape who were near the business heavily damaged by the flames,” explained Sergeant Maïté Bolduc, public relations officer at the SQ.
She added that the men, aged 18 and 19, “had severe burns on their bodies”, and “they were taken to the hospital in critical condition”.
An investigation is underway to try to understand the causes of the fire of suspicious origin.
