A 50-year-old driving an electric scooter was seriously injured Monday evening when he was hit by the driver of a car in the borough of Lachine, in Montreal.
Authorities were called to the intersection of rue Provost and 25e avenue, in Lachine, around 7 p.m.
They spotted a man with serious upper body injuries. The latter was transported to a hospital center where he was still being evaluated at the end of the evening.
According to initial information gathered from witnesses, the driver, a 40-year-old woman, was traveling on Provost Street before turning left onto 25e av. It was at this moment that she allegedly hit the driver of the scooter, who was then crossing Provost Street. At this point, a traffic light regulates traffic.
A security perimeter was erected on site and collision investigators had just arrived to try to reconstruct the circumstances that led to the accident.
