A teenager was between life and death Thursday evening after a violent swerve on an ATV during which a young girl suffered major injuries, in Hébertville, Lac-Saint-Jean.
The accident occurred around 8 p.m. in a quarry located on 3e rank. The two teenagers were on board the ATV when they lost control of the car.
The police went to the scene by mountain bike to evacuate the two victims.
“The boy was seriously injured and we still fear for his life while the girl suffered major injuries that would not put her life in danger,” said Stéphane Tremblay, spokesperson for the Sûreté du Québec, the day after the incident. the accident.
The teenager was transferred to the CHU de Sainte-Justine in order to obtain the appropriate care.
The two teenagers were wearing helmets, Sergeant Tremblay also said.
A reconstructionist was called to the scene to analyze the scene.
