The remains of a man in his sixties were found Sunday in a ditch in the municipality of Lac-Drolet, in the Eastern Townships. He had been missing for several days.
The Sûreté du Québec (SQ) was informed on Saturday around 6:30 p.m. of the man’s disappearance. A command post was set up to undertake the search, which mobilized police, volunteers and an SQ helicopter.
“This morning, around 10:15 am, the lifeless body of the man who was missing was located in a ditch on Chemin Principal, near his residence,” said Hélène St-Pierre, spokesperson for the SQ.
An investigation is underway to clarify the circumstances of this event and to determine the time of the man’s death.
