After the self-service checkouts, a food market in Montreal offers its customers a business without employees.

Located on Wellington Street, the Aisle 24 Market is open 24 hours a day; customers can access it through a mobile application.
“We create an account. So the account will ask you to have a credit card, ID and a nice selfie to confirm the ID on the ID. Then, the application is really just to unlock the door ”explained to TVA Nouvelles the co-owner of Marché Aisle 24, Jessika Venne.
The customer then does their shopping and pays for their purchases at a self-service checkout, as seen in many grocery stores.
The co-owners are well aware of the difficulties of hiring in this area. This is why they opted for a 100% autonomous service, by purchasing a franchise from the Ontario chain Aisle 24.
“My partner grew up in convenience stores with his father. And growing up, he realized that employees, often, it can be difficult to find, to have, especially for a concept which is 24 hours. Night shifts have always been harder to fill, to have employees. So we thought it was great, ”says Jessika Venne.
Jessika Venne and her partner, Daniel Lambert, are thinking big. They will already open a second branch in December. The couple who bought the rights for Quebec are planning an expansion of 25 stores over five years.
