Labor dispute in childcare centers: a “joint declaration” will be launched on Sunday

Unions, associations of non-union members and parents as well as representatives of opposition parties will launch a “joint declaration” on Sunday morning in the wake of the labor dispute in the Early Childhood Centers (CPE).

The main union organizations that represent childcare workers called the media at 10:30 a.m. in Montreal to unveil it.

Spokespersons for the Liberal Party of Quebec, Quebec solidaire and the Parti Quebecois must also be on site, as well as representatives of the organization “Ma place au travail” and the group “Valorisons ma profession”.

The workers of the Federation of Early Childhood Workers, affiliated with the CSQ, announced Friday that they will indeed exercise their mandate of indefinite strike, starting Thursday in the childcare centers where they have members.

The two largest union organizations that represent workers in early childhood centers in Quebec will therefore be on indefinite strike at the same time, the Federation of Health and Social Services, affiliated to the CSN, having already been on indefinite strike since Wednesday. .

The President of the Treasury Board, Sonia Lebel, said Friday to have “joined the objectives and priorities” of the unions by having improved its offer.
