La Zarra, the French hope of the competition

It’s the festival of extravagance and rhinestones. Eurovision fever rises in the streets of Liverpool (United Kingdom), Friday, May 12. On stage, 37 countries will compete with pop and offbeat performances. The candidate from France already seems to be seducing spectators from all over the world. “La Zarra is fantastic, wonderful, a goddess. I love her”says one of them.

His song in French rose to the top of the predictions chart. While the French delegation polishes every second of its performance, Quebecer La Zarra, a former hairdresser turned singer, is proud to represent France. “My relationship with Eurovision being small, it’s really through my mother, it was my mother who sang to me Marie Myriam’s song, L’enfant et l’oiseau. So yes, Eurovision for me is a beautiful memory”she says.
