The great world premiere ofIndiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny (Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny) took place on Thursday evening during an official screening at the Grand Théâtre Lumière which very few media representatives were able to attend. The screening for journalists is indeed scheduled for Friday, as is the press conference with the crew of this film directed by James Mangold, at the center of which will obviously be Harrison Ford. We know that the latter, to whom we awarded an honorary Palme d’Or on Thursday, has already declared that after this fifth cinematographic part, he was hanging on for good hat and whip. A system and its failures
Since the pandemic, major film festivals have been operating with ticketing systems for journalists who are already accredited. This creates a lot of additional anxiety, and also, sometimes, failures. THE HollywoodReporter echoed the Festival’s “faux pas” that occurred during the session devoted to Strange Way of Life, the short film by Pedro Almodóvar. The meeting with the Spanish filmmaker attracted so many prestigious guests that several journalists duly provided with tickets were refused entry, including, reports the HollywoodReportertwo journalists from their organization, as well as Justin Chang, from the Los Angeles Times. Even Janet Yang, president of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, which oversees the Oscars, was unable to enter. The special envoy of The Press feels all the more privileged to have been able to attend this event which, on Wednesday, supplanted all the others.

Having directed the destinies of the Warner studio in France, Germany, Austria and Benelux for 25 years, Iris Knobloch now assumes the presidency of the Cannes Film Festival.
