It’s the end of an era. La Poste will stop selling the famous red stamp, sold at 1.43 euros, from January 1, 2023, the group announced in a press release on July 21, 2022. La Poste justifies its choice by the evolution of “uses” and “a very heavy energy balance” for this type of mail delivered within one business day. Users will still be able to buy a green stamp, for the price of 1.16 euros, delivered in 3 days, the statement said. For urgent shipments, it will now be possible to send “a red e-letter” from the La Poste site, delivered in one day and marketed at 1.49 euros for one to three sheets.

The group also announces the introduction of a service letter turquoise plus, “proposed for the most important shipments requiring traceability, such as sending a check or small goods”. It will be distributed in 2 days and will cost a minimum of 2.95 euros. The letter will ship from “smartdata”, specifies the press release without explaining how it works. The prices of Colissimo will not change, from 4.95 euros while those of registered letters will increase to 4.83 euros against 4.55 euros currently.
