La Mosson will pay tribute to Souleymane Camara, legend of Montpellier Hérault

La Paillade will finally be able to say thank you! This Saturday, the former Senegalese international will be in the spotlight on the Mosson lawn, before the kick-off of Montpellier-Nice, in Ligue 1, two clubs for which he wore the colors. A year and a half after the career break, and while he has since joined the MHSC recruitment cell, the player the most capped in the history of the Hérault club will receive the tribute of which the pandemic had hitherto deprived him.

A highly anticipated event, around a player like no other. From the top of his 76 goals all competitions combined, the second scorer in Pailladin history behind Laurent Blanc was a special place in the hearts of club loversbut also in that of the partners rubbed shoulders with during the twelve seasons disputed in favor of the Paillade.

A man and a striker apart, in more ways than one: French champion in 2012he became seven years later the first striker to score in fifteen different seasons, in Ligue 1, in addition to becoming the the most decisive substitute in the championshipsince 1968, with 26 achievements off the bench.

There is no doubt that on Saturday the fans present will sing the refrain which has long been sung in the bays of the Mossonin his honour: “Camaradona“. The only major regret is the absence of the ultras for this match, those who decided not to return before the health pass was lifted.
