While Paris Saint-Germain is heading straight for a tenth French championship title, the final sprint is also launched in the four other major European championships. If in Germany and Spain the dice seem cast, the suspense as to the name of the winner remains intact in England and Italy.
In England, a neck and neck between Liverpool and Manchester City
Two teams broke away at the top of the Premier League table. In all likelihood, it is a match between the two clubs which have won the last four championships which is announced: Manchester City (74 points) and Liverpool (73 points). While there are still seven games to play for each of the two formations, it is the Mancunians who currently have a small point in advance to be their own successors.
But in 2022, the best team in the Premier League is Liverpool (32 points out of 36 in 12 games, including no defeats). However, Manchester City seemed to be on its own and there was no sign of such a fight. On January 15, the Citizens were thirteen points ahead of their runner-up, after their success against Chelsea (1-0).
Back in the Skyblues escapement, the Reds missed the opportunity to get past in their confrontation with City on April 10 (2-2). And now, the calendar seems more favorable to the players of Pep Guardiola. The highest ranked opponent they will find in their path is West Ham, currently seventh, when the Reds still have two big teams to face: Manchester United and Tottenham, who offered the scalp of Manchester City in February.

In Germany, Bayern on the way to a 32nd title
Among our neighbors across the Rhine, the end of the season holds fewer palpitations than across the Channel. As for nine years and without real surprise, Bayern Munich is approaching a new title of German champion. Currently first with 72 points, the players of Julian Nagelsmann could be crowned from the 31st day in the event of victory against their dolphin Dortmund, who are currently nine points behind them. The last big meeting of the Bavarian club this season, to hope to forget a failed Champions League after its surprise elimination by Villarreal in the quarter-finals (1-0, 1-1).

In Spain, Real on an armchair
The defending champion is on track to keep his crown. Real Madrid is on a royal road. Six games from the end of their season, the Merengues are fifteen points ahead of their Barcelona runner-up, who have a late game to play. They should not win any of their last meetings of 2021-2022 and Barça, Sevilla FC or Atlético de Madrid should fill up on their side.
In other words, the mass is said. If there was a tiny hope of a comeback on the FC Barcelona side, it disappeared on Monday April 18, with an embarrassing defeat at home against Cadiz (0-1). But it will be necessary, at least, to wait until April 24 to see Real Madrid mathematically validate its title and reward the exceptional season of Karim Benzema, already author of 25 goals and 11 assists in La Liga.

In Italy, a very tight fight between the two Milan
Bis repeated. Like last season, the title race is played out between Milanese clubs. AC Milan (71 points), which hopes to glean a first crown for eleven years, is two points ahead of its rival, Inter (69 pts). But the Nerazzurri could go ahead thanks to their late match against Bologna on April 27, if they win. The two competitors will play a duel from a distance, each with a big test against a Roman team: Inter will cross paths with Roma on April 23 and Milan with Lazio on April 24.
Just behind in the standings, Naples did not say its last word but dropped valuable points by failing to win against AS Roma on the 33rd day, conceding the equalizer in added time (1-1) . Napoli are four points behind the leaders. Juventus, meanwhile, believed for a moment that they could recover their throne but are almost out of the race for the second consecutive year (- 8 points).
