After Jean-Luc Mélenchon’s third place in the presidential election, The France insoumise proposes to form a coalition on the left with a view to the legislative elections, which will be held on 12 and 19 June next.

“Less than a week after the first round of the presidential election, the various left-wing parties are already in the lead in the legislative elections (June 12 and 19), explains journalist Jean-Christophe Galeazzi, Friday, April 15. After the third place of Jean-Luc Mélenchon (21.95% of the votes cast), the Insoumis therefore take control in a letter sent to ecologists, communists and the New Anti-Capitalist Party (Postcode).

The Insoumis propose “a common label in the constituencies to constitute a form of political majority at the Assembly”, specifies Jean-Christophe Galeazzi. “The Mélenchonists have set their conditions, in particular a distribution of candidacies proportional to the scores of the first round of the presidential election. They also demand that the attacks against their movement cease”adds the journalist.
