Manuel Bompard, the national coordinator of La France insoumise, wrote a letter to the leadership of the Socialist Party to ask for “details” on the moratorium on the party’s participation in Nupes, the franceinfo political service learned, confirming information from the Figaro (article reserved for subscribers). “I need to understand to discuss with certain socialists. I am not the only one who has not understood”, explains to franceinfo a member of the management of La France insoumise.

A moratorium decided by the socialists

Wednesday October 18, the PS announced to suspend “his participation in the work of the Nupes“, waiting for “the construction of a new common framework”. This “moratorium” was decided by the socialists after the controversial positions taken by La France insoumise and its former leader, Jean-Luc Mélenchon, on the conflict between Israel and Hamas.
