La Bouille is not the favorite village of the French This year. The smallest Norman village (1.3 km² for 750 inhabitants) finished in sixth place in the ranking. The verdict was revealed this Wednesday evening during the program broadcast on France 3. But the inhabitants of La Bouille are far from disappointed.
“We expected nothing”
“Frankly, we weren’t hoping for anything. We were already very happy to participate in the show. So there we savor, we are super happy, happy to have made the village proud, its inhabitants, all the people who contribute to this village“, says very moved Clément Bouvet, deputy mayor of La Bouille.
“If we would have deserved the first place“, smiles from his side Mathilde. “But we love our village, and we wanted to show this family spirit that there was. It’s a haven of peace“, she adds. For his part, Nino highlights the charms of his village. “The cliffs, the Seine, they keep telling us that the setting is ideal“.
This year, the French have elected the village of Bergheim, in the north of the Haut-Rhin in Alsace, the favorite village of the French.
