The Berrichonne supporters had been waiting for it for several weeks: that’s it, the 2022-2023 calendar for the National championship is known. The Castelroussins will start their season at the Gaston-Petit stadium on August 12 against a promoted from National 2, Paris FC. They will then go, on August 19, to Avranches, 12th in the previous season.
An affordable start to the championship?
On paper, the Blue and Reds will have a rather affordable start to the championship: they will face three promoted over the first four days. Reception of Paris 13 Atlético at the opening, then FC Martigues on the third day on August 26, before a trip to Le Puy on September 2. The last day will take place on May 26, with a trip to Île-de-France, against Paris 13 Atlético.
Only two meetings in October
The calendar for this 2022-2023 season offers much busier months than others. Thus, in September and March, the Berrichons will play five matches, while the calendar provides for only two in January and October. However, the month of October is also the time when the Coupe de France starts for the National teams, on the weekend of October 9, in the 5th round.
Bordeaux or Villefranche?
In its official calendar, the FFF did not project the presence or not of Bordeaux in National. The Girondin club has been administratively demoted from Ligue 2 to the third division, but the situation is not yet fixed.
Consequently, the calendar of the federation provides for “Bordeaux or Villefranche”. If the Girondins were to evolve into National, the Castelroussins would face them on December 15 awayand on April 28 at the Gaston-Petit stadium.
