This May 6, the players of Berrichonne Football played their last match of the season on the lawn of Gaston-Petit. A frustrating encounter for the players of Châteauroux, which ended in a draw, 0-0.
Interesting opportunities in the first half
The Castelroussins begin the meeting foot to the floor. They have control of the ball and they suddenly get the first free chance in the ninth minute. The tall (1m92) Siré Doucouré inherits the ball in the penalty area: he pivots, shoots but the ball is deflected for a corner. The Corsicans react and Idrissa Ba is on the verge of scoring on a center back, in the 13th minute. His shot is blocked but the ball misses the goals of Castelroussin goalkeeper Paul Delecroix.
The two teams then neutralize each other for several minutes, despite Castelroussine domination. But in the 34th, Corsica Mons Bassouamina inherits the ball at the penalty point. His pivot shot is countered by the Berri defender, Nama Fofana for a corner which will not give anything 0 to 0.
Despite some interesting chances, half-time is whistled with the score 0 to 0.
Returning from the locker room, it was emotional for the great Razak Boukari who replaced Siriné Doukouré before kick-off.
According to tradition, for his last match, he received the captain’s armband from the hands of Opa Sanganté.
La Berri pushed and Thomas Robinet launched like a meteor into the penalty area but his shot grazed Balijon’s post in the 56th minute. A few minutes later, the top scorer delivered another strike that gave hope to the Castelroussin public. The ball takes the direction of the top corner but the goalkeeper Balijon pushes back for a corner.
In the aftermath Mons Bassouamina finds the post of Delecroix on a shot deflected by the Castelroussine defense. The Berri goalkeeper even saves his team from a reflex save in the last minutes
The Berry will end its championship next Friday on the lawn of Cholet. And the kick-off will be given at 8:45 p.m. for this final meeting of the season.
Tribute to Razak Boukari
Farewell to Razak Boukari, this Berri striker who gave so much for his club marked this last meeting at home. The 35-year-old player received a fine tribute from the Castelroussin public when he arrived on the pitch in the second half. He even wore the captain’s armband.
His father, Sadou, who was the very first player to sign a professional contract in 1991, was present in the span of the stadium this evening, obviously very moved.
