La Belle-Dame, the champion butterfly of migration.

Yann BAILLET is an entomologist, member of the FLAVIA APE association (Association for Butterflies and their Study).

In fact, the butterflies appeared with weather radars showing clouds of insects moving south again, but we didn’t necessarily know it was La Belle-Dame.

They will cover more than 6000 kilometers in one go over a fortnight, doing about 500 kilometers per day at most.

They make several steps up north simply to follow the development of host plants necessary for its reproduction.
