Will leave, won’t leave? Paris or Madrid? The questions never end since last summer. Quoting a “source very close to the file“, the newspaper The Parisian (article for subscribers) affirmed, Thursday, May 5, that a “agreement in principle“had been found between PSG and Kylian Mbappé’s clan for a contract extension. But the player’s mother, Fayza Lamari, denied any agreement on Twitter a few minutes after the article was published.
“There is no agreement in principle with Paris Saint-Germain (or any other club). Discussions around Kylian’s future are continuing in a climate of great serenity to allow him to make the best choice, respecting all parties”she tempered.

Contacted by AFP, a source familiar with the matter also played down this press information, assuring that there was “always talks” between the two parties. Mbappé’s contract ends at the end of June. If it is not renewed, he will leave the capital without any transfer fee being paid.
PSG would be confident
The Parisian ensures that PSG is hopeful of having convinced the relatives of the 2018 world champion coveted by Real Madrid. “If the file is not closed and it will not be until the two parties have initialed the contract, the choice is about to be made. For PSG, Kylian Mbappé (…) will extend to PSG”writes the newspaper.
After obtaining a tenth title of champion of France, the attention of PSG is now turned towards the sporting reconstruction of the club. Eliminated in the knockout stages of the Champions League, the capital club fears that its best player will leave. The latter was transferred from Monaco in 2017 for 180 million euros, the second most expensive player transfer in history.
