“There is no controversy”, assures the entourage of Kylian Mbappé, contacted Saturday March 2 by France Bleu Paris. During the Monaco-PSG meeting on Friday evening, the Paris Saint-Germain star striker came off at half-time. This decision by coach Luis Enrique and the behavior of Kylian Mbappé caused a lot of reaction.
Coming back from the locker room where he put on a tracksuit, the PSG star did not sit on the bench but in the stands next to his mother, after greeting the supporters, and taking a selfie with a hostess, reports France Bleu Paris.
Kylian Mbappé has not played a full match in Ligue 1 since he announced his departure from the club in the summer of 2024. His entourage assures that he “respect the decision” of the coach, that he “there is no controversy” and that he is “concentrate” on his next match, the round of 16 second leg of the Champions League against Real Sociedad next Tuesday. According to these same sources, it was a Parisian manager who suggested that the PSG captain sit in the stands.
Luis Enrique accepts his choice of not having Kylian Mbappé play in the second half. “It’s my decision 100%, I repeat, sooner or later, we have to get used to playing without Kylian, and it’s a decision that I take because I think it’s the best for the team”he argued.
