A record in the world of football. PSG star Kylian Mbappé will be the highest paid football player on the planet this season, according to the annual ranking of Forbes (link in English), posted Friday, October 7. En counting his club income and that from advertising contracts, thehe French striker is expected to earn $128m (€131.1m), before taxes and agent fees.

In detail, between his salary and part of his signing bonus, Kylian Mbappé will receive during the current season around 110 million dollars, estimates the American magazine, citing experts in the sector. This amount is added to the 18 million dollars of income outside the field, with its various partnerships (Nike, Dior, Hublot, Oakley, Panini or the FIFA video game).

For the first time since 2014, these are therefore neither the Argentinian Lionel Messi nor the Portuguese Cristiano Ronaldo who are at the top of the classification. The seven-time Ballon d’Or, Mbappé’s teammate at PSG, is second on the list with 120 million dollars (122.9 million euros). The Manchester United striker is third with 100 million (102.42 million euros).

This top three alone concentrates more than half of the total of 652 million dollars (667.77 million euros) in income, comprising the ten highest salaries in world football. Last year, the top 10 accumulated 585 million dollars (599.15 million euros).
