But if this Sunday, July 9, 2023, the famous 24-year-old sportsman made the headlines, it was because of the publication of an interview with France Football in which he loosened up a bit about his club, the Paris Saint Germain. Kylian Mbappé declares that his presence at PSG “does not help much” to show what his real performance is.
“Do people trivialize my performances? Yes, but at the same time, I don’t blame them, confides Kylian Mbappé. In France, they saw me grow up, they see me all the time, at PSG every weekends or in selection. And I’ve been scoring a lot for years. So, for people, it becomes normal” says Kylian Mbappe
And the champion to add: “We are in a consumer society, where ‘it’s good, but do it again’. And the fact that I’m right next door, in Paris… I think playing Paris-SG doesn’t help a lot because it’s a divisive team, a divisive club. So of course it attracts bad language but it doesn’t bother me because I know what I’m doing and how I do it”.

According to RMC, six players, including two new recruits, have asked to speak with Nasser Al-Khelaïfi to express their anger after the statements of Kylian Mbappé. “It’s an insult to the club” would have launched one of the complainants.
