Evacuated until the last patient. In a pediatric hospital in kyiv (Ukraine), it’s emergency. Several ambulances transfer patients to another care center. Among them, Miroslava, on maternity leave, chooses to return home. “We had just been admitted to the ward a few hours ago”she explains.
A threatening video
A video relayed widely on social networks is at the origin of this evacuation. In it, two hospitals in the north of the Ukrainian capital are cited as a potential target by the Russians. “The Russian aggressor threatens to strike our healthcare establishments by indicating the address and the street. He claims that Ukrainian soldiers are hiding there”, says Vitali Klitschko, mayor of kyiv. Since the start of the war, more than 1,600 attacks against health centers have been recorded by the WHO.
