(Los Angeles) For the second consecutive week, Kung Fu Panda 4 anticipated the second part of Dune at the North American box office, according to estimates on Sunday from specialist firm Exhibitor Relations.
The fourth part of this animated saga from DreamWorks studios which mixes humor and martial arts garnered some $30 million in revenue between Friday and Sunday, bringing its total to $107.7 million in North America and $176.5 millions in the rest of the world.
In this new sequel, the endearing panda “Po”, to whom actor Jack Black lends his voice in the original version, must face a multifaceted enemy. In order to successfully protect the Valley of Peace, the panda must ally himself with Zhen, a vixen who is as cunning as she is quick-witted.
Dune: Part Two once again finds itself in second place, recording $29.1 million in revenue between Friday and Sunday.
The feature film lasting more than 2 hours 30 minutes, directed by Quebecer Denis Villeneuve, returns to the planet Arrakis, populated by giant sandworms and the scene of a conflict around a unique resource, Spice. Headlining, Timothée Chalamet as “Paul Atreides”, a conquering prophet, and Zendaya, as “Chani”, a desert rebel.
After this leading duo, the gap widened widely in North American cinemas, with third Arthur the Kingobtaining $7.5 million.

In fourth place, the horror film Imaginarywhich depicts an evil teddy bear, raked in $5.6 million.
Angel Studios’ new religious drama, titled Cabrini, follows, with 2.7 million dollars. The film traces the life of Mother Frances Cabrini, a Catholic nun canonized after her death, in 19th century New York.e century.
