Boxing Success at the ASKÖ State Championships
Last weekend, the KSF Gym Leoben hosted the ASKÖ State Championships in boxing, showcasing a total of eleven matches in Olympic boxing. Athletes from all ASKÖ boxing clubs, including Powerjab Weiz and WSV Liezen, took part in the event. Notably, the Leoben training center celebrated significant victories: Nino Dalipovic clinched a state championship title in the Youth category for competitors up to 80 kilograms, while his teammate Nicusor Ciorcirla earned a commendable second place in the Elite class up to 71 kilograms. Additionally, KSF athlete Tatjana Zivkovic-Hirtler had a successful ring debut in a sparring match against Graz’s Zoes Karner, which followed modified rules. Rebecca Hödl also participated in a sparring session against Sissi Lamprecht from BU Heros Graz.
Rebecca Hödl Shines at the Muay Thai European Championship
In an exciting turn of events, Rebecca Hödl from KSF Gym Leoben represented the national team at her first WAKO European Championship in Athens at the beginning of November. Although she faced an early exit from the kickboxing competition, which placed her 9th, she quickly transitioned to the IFMA Muay Thai European Championship in Pristina, Kosovo. There, she showcased her skills in Muay Thai, earning an impressive bronze medal. Günter Plank, the chairman of KSF Gym Leoben, contributed to the event as the chief referee across all rings.
Looking ahead, Rebecca is set to compete in the international Spartan Muay Thai Cup in Budapest next weekend, followed by participation in the Antalya Cup at the beginning of December.
ESV Leoben’s Stellar Performance in Sports Bowling
In a thrilling Styrian Derby during the eighth autumn round of the men’s Bundesliga East, ESV Leoben faced off against GSZ Graz in Graz. The Leoben team emerged victorious with a solid score of 6:2, positioning themselves in second place on the table. Armin Stocker stood out as the top player for ESV Leoben, scoring 573 pins.
Next, ESV Leoben will play at home against SPG Schlaining/Großwarasdorf on Saturday, November 16, from 1 to 4:30 PM. The team is eager to maintain their successful momentum on their home turf.
Nico Lieber Dominates the Volkscup Final
At the recent 21st Murau City Run, athletes showcased their talents, with Leoben’s Nico Lieber delivering a remarkable performance. Competing in the U14 category, he claimed victory in the ‘Austrian Volkslaufcup Final’ over a distance of 2,000 meters, demonstrating his exceptional speed and endurance.
Exciting Draw for ESV Leoben
In another gripping match during the 7th autumn round of the Austrian 1st Bundesliga East in sports bowling, ESV Leoben faced KV Kronlachner Wr. Neustadt. After a fiercely contested battle, the game concluded in a 4:4 draw. Gerhard Plank was a standout player, scoring 623 pins, making him not only the best player for his team but also the top player of the day.
On Saturday, November 9, ESV Leoben will take on GSZ Graz in an away game, aiming to secure more points and extend their successful run.
