The veteran defenseman has been cleared and can play in Saturday night’s game at the Bell Center against the Seattle Kraken.

Edmundson hasn’t played since last July’s Grand Finals, and he’s spent this season dealing with setbacks, including a lingering back pain that just wouldn’t go away.

But all that is behind him, and Martin St-Louis confirmed his return for Saturday night, without however adding too many details on his use.

“He will tell us himself during the game, declared Martin St-Louis on Saturday in Brossard. We won’t think about making him play for 20 or 22 minutes, we’ll be careful so that he doesn’t take too many big bites when he leaves. Luke [Richardson, le responsable des défenseurs] will make the right decisions for the team. »

It will be the only return to play for a member of the Canadiens on Saturday night at the Bell Center, while the line of those preparing for a return continues to grow.

Thus, the Canadian has confirmed that Carey Price will skate on Saturday morning, but that no return date is known. Jonathan Drouin, Andrew Hammond, Jake Allen and Christian Dvorak are all among the group of those attempting a comeback but whose return date is unknown. Martin St-Louis has also confirmed that forward Laurent Dauphin will not be in uniform for Saturday night’s game.

This match against the Kraken will also be presented in front of a Bell Center filled to capacity. Finally, if the Canadian manages to sell all his tickets.
