Koh-Lanta: Who are the former winners and what has happened to them?

It was in 2001 that the first season of Koh Lanta was toured. Between the so-called traditional editions and the special seasons, there have been some winners! All of them were outstanding in their own way. Overview of the winners of all seasons of Koh Lanta, some have not fallen back into anonymity!

Koh-Lanta 2001, a winner, but no posts

The first season of Koh Lanta, entitled Les Aventuriers de Koh-Lanta, took place in Thailand, on the island of Koh Lanta (it’s the only one). The first great champion is Gilles Nicolet, after 43 days of survival. During this edition, it was not thanks to the posts that he won, but thanks to the so-called “idol” test. The finalists had to keep their hand against a column in the shape of a totem pole. It held 9:30 am and obtained the most votes against the Final Jury. Since Koh Lanta, he was tour administrator for Nicolas Canteloup, worked in the theater with Patrick Timsit, Thierry Lhermitte and Pierre Richard. He also released two books, The White Hand (2002) and The Blue Cell (2015).

Koh-Lanta 2002, first female winner and a record

Entitled Koh-Lanta: Nicoya, this second season was shot in Costa Rica. After 40 days of adventure, Amel Fatnassi won the show. Note that she broke a record since she held 5:17 on the posts. But beware, the test was not the same as today since the candidates wore shoes and the post shrinkage only took place after three hours. If you take this into account, it’s actually Jade (winner of Koh Lanta in 2007 and poles in The Return of the Heroes in 2009) who holds this record by remaining more than four hours on the poles and twice in 2007 and 2009. Amel Fatnassi is in any case the first woman to have won Koh Lanta.

Koh-Lanta 2003, two winners tied

Koh-Lanta: Bocas del Toro was filmed in Panama for 40 days. For the first time in the history of the show, two candidates won the game: Delphine Bano and Isabelle Seguin. The final Jury, made up of six people, an even number, voted ex aequo. Isabelle Seguin is the first woman to have won the Orientation test.

Koh-Lanta 2004, a unanimous winner

After 40 days of play, Koh-Lanta Panama was won by Philippe Bordier. Yet it was he who fell first from the posts after 50 minutes. Facing the final Jury and for the first time in the history of the game, he won unanimously against Linda. In 2012, he revealed that he had a kidney removed and battled cancer.

Koh-Lanta 2005, a winner who will be twice!

Toured in New Caledonia, this season was won by the famous Clémence Castel. The discreet young woman won unanimously and viewers were able to see her twice: in 2008, where she was eliminated at the start of Reunification and in 2018, where she won again! She is the only participant to have won the adventure twice. In 2019, Clémence Castel released a book, Go until the end ! (Flammarion). After beautiful years of love and the birth of two children, the couple she formed with Mathieu Johann, former candidate of the star Academy in 2004, broke up.

Koh-Lanta 2006, a winner in a relationship with his rival

Koh-Lanta: Vanuatu saw the victory of François-David Cardonnel after 40 days of adventure. He who had a love affair with Émilie, the other finalist of this season of Koh Lanta, married a pretty brunette, Lila Guennas in 2019. A young woman met on set, because the young man became an actor! After playing in The Goofs in 2010 with Ingrid Chauvin, he played in Research Section, Alice Nevers, the film The list of my desires (adaptation of the novel by Grégoire Delacourt) with Mathilde Seigner. He also had a role in The Bazaar of Charity.

Koh-Lanta 2007, two winners, one last!

Koh-Lanta: Palawan had two winners: Kévin Cuoco and Jade Handi. Here again, the final Jury was made up of six people. As we wrote above when referring to Amel’s record on the posts in season 2, Jade lasted more than four hours, in conditions similar to today’s editions. A feat. Since the shooting, Jade has become a mother to a little girl and lives abroad.

Koh-Lanta 2008, a committed winner

Koh-Lanta: Caramoan, whose filming lasted 39 days, was won by Christelle Gauzet. She, who worked in the police force, became an event planner. She is the founder of Défi d’Elles. Unique and united sports raids and events. A brand committed to women and the planet. Laure Manaudou and Laury Thilleman have already participated in his raids.

Koh-Lanta 2009, a winner and a missed return

It was after 39 days of adventure that Christina Chevry won Koh-Lanta: Palau. The pretty waitress had won no less than six events! In 2010, she participated in Clash of Heroes, but it was eliminated on the 12th day.

Return of the heroes in 2009 and revenge of a candidate

Koh-Lanta: The Return of the Heroes is the first special edition of the adventure game. It was won by Romuald Lafite after 21 days of survival. It was against Jade, who had again broken a record at the posts, that he had won. A real revenge for the fitness teacher who lost in Orientation in 2004.

Koh-Lanta 2010, the winner who beat Claude

This edition toured in Vietnam saw the victory of Philippe Duron after 40 days of adventure. This candidate faced the legendary Claude, who can be found in this 2020 edition of Koh Lanta. And it is because Claude was not very appreciated that Philippe won. He therefore won the 100,000 euros against an opponent who had won six victories in eleven individual events and who had broken a record in orienteering by finding the dagger at breakneck speed.

Clash of heroes in 2010 … a winner and a first

It was in New Caledonia and for 19 days that the shooting took place. This special edition saw seven former candidates of the show and seven former athletes oppose each other. It is Grégoire Delachaux, former candidate of the season toured in 2007, who won this special edition. First player to successfully fire in Koh Lanta, Grégoire is now a beekeeper and a father.

Koh-Lanta 2011, the winner who faced the legend Teheiura

Koh Lanta: Raja Ampat was toured in Indonesia for 41 days. Gérard Urdampilleta won this edition against a player well known today Teheiura Teahui.

Revenge of the heroes in 2012, another winner who beats Claude

For 23 days, former players gathered in Cambodia to Koh-Lanta: The Heroes’ Revenge. This edition was won by Bertrand Bolle. He also beat poor Claude against the final Jury (note that no former winner of the show was in the casting). As during his first participation in Koh Lanta in 2008, Bertrand fell first from the posts, but he was chosen by the winner for the final vote. A bad choice on the part of Claude who only obtained one vote.

Koh-Lanta 2012, a tough winner on the posts

After 42 days of adventure, Ugo Lartiche won Koh-Lanta: Malaysia. The candidate lasted more than 4:10 on the poles. His opponent Brice had almost no chance of winning (only 1 vote) against the final Jury as Ugo was appreciated.

New edition in 2014, a winning and unanimous return

Heading back to Malaysia for Koh-Lanta: The New Edition, won by Laurent Maistret after 24 days of adventure. The one that we could find in We’re not just guinea pigs, four times in Fort Boyard and in Dance with the stars (show he also won in 2016) defeated Martin Bazin unanimously against the Final Jury, when he fell first from the posts.

Koh-Lanta 2015, the winner gives his 100,000 euros

Koh-Lanta: Johor was once again toured in Malaysia and was won by Marc Rambaud. This entrepreneur who makes the fire in less than three minutes had donated his 100,000 euros to the association Terre de Vie. Lately, in addition to his successful boutique, the businessman wanted to open a café.

Koh-Lanta 2016 (season 15), a discreet winner

Koh-Lanta Thailand saw the victory of the sweet Wendy Gervois, little sister of the heart of the very strategist Pascal Salviani. It was he who won the posts and chose her to go further and Pascal, a successful businessman, was not disappointed to see her win. Wendy recently entered politics. She was on the list of candidate Franck Berteaux for the 2020 municipal elections for the city of Fourmies.

Koh-Lanta 2016 (season 16), a winner married to his finalist

Koh-Lanta: The treasure island, tour in Cambodia was won by Benoît Assadi who faced Jesta Hillmann. If they didn’t fall in love during the game, they are now married and parents to little Juliann (11 months old on June 15th). The couple are influencers and appear with their baby on the reality show Moms & Famous.

Koh-Lanta 2017 (season 17), a winner close to Grégory Lemarchal

Also toured in Cambodia, this edition saw the victory of Frédéric Blancher. He too had yet fallen first from the posts, but Clémentine (a candidate who had unfairly received violent criticism) had chosen him to face the final Jury. Frédéric, first winner of an edition of Koh Lanta with three teams, had rubbed shoulders with Grégory Lemarchal and had announced that he wanted to donate part of his earnings to the association Grégory Lemarchal.

Koh-Lanta 2017 (season 18), a very young winner

It was the young André Delaplace (19) who won this season entitled Koh-Lanta: Fiji. He had won the posts and had chosen Tiffany to accompany him in front of the final Jury. A wise choice, because he won with 7 votes to 1.

The Heroes’ Fight in 2018, another winner …

This other special edition toured in Fiji is the one won by Clémence Castel, candidate who had already won Koh Lanta in 2005 (see above). She too had faced Pascal Salviani (who had again won the posts!)

Koh-Lanta 2019, a winner with a great project

The War of the Chiefs was won by Maud Bamps. The Belgian fan of mountaineering, had faced Cindy Poumeyrol (who participates as Jesta in the show Moms & Famous with his daughter Alba). The friendship between Maud and Cyril had marked a lot this season. Moreover, the two friends had planned to climb Everest together. A project postponed because of the coronavirus.

Koh-Lanta 2020, a winner who became a mother

On June 5, 2020 Naoil won Koh-Lanta 2020 and the 100,000 euros that go with it. But there is another date she will never forget, August 24, 2020. The boxer who appeared pregnant in the final of Koh Lanta, gave birth to her son Aylan.

Koh-Lanta, Les 4 Terres in 2020, a grieving winner

Editing 4 Lands was rich in emotion. In full broadcast on TF1, the adventurers lost one of their own, Bertrand-Kamal, who died at 30 from pancreatic cancer. The final was dedicated to her, and it was finally Alexandra who won the game. The young mother was close to the late BK, with whom she shared a good bit of adventure in the green team of the East.

Koh-Lanta, The Secret Weapons in 2021

Editing Secret Weapons was won by Maxine Eouzan. The young woman who represented the French team in acrobatic gymnastics and diving and who suffered a burnout – she gave up just before the Olympic Games in Rio in diving – is a sports journalist. Since September 2019, she has hosted the weekly show Young generations on the Sport channel in France. She is also a lecturer. The young woman is in a relationship with Benjamin Bonzi, a tennis player. He is the winner of six challengers tournaments this year and is 64th in the ATP rankings.
