Two years after his victory, Laurent gave his news to Non Stop People. This is how he revealed how he spent the earned money. And it was as a thoughtful man that he acted! The big joker of Koh Lanta wished to save a large part of his earnings to finance various projects, in particular “develop his website on which he offered survival internships to companies and individuals“, as our colleagues indicated in 2016. Then, in the process, he gave more details to Star TV : “I have paid off my mother’s debts. She has redone her living room and has a new TV. And I have placed money in an account at the bank. I intend to buy myself an apartment, but I don’t want to rush anything.“
Remember that Laurent Maistret is an outstanding adventurer. In three appearances, he has carved out a place among the best of the best. In 2011, he was knocked out at the posts test. Then, three years later, he won the edition. In 2021, ten years after his very first appearance in the survival game of the One, he is once again going to the end of the adventure. And he still has his chances of winning! For this he must either win the posts or be chosen as a finalist by the winner of the event. Finally, it’s up to the members of the final jury to vote among the last two survivors.
This season is special for Laurent Maistret. This is the first he has seen without his mother Aïcha, who died last January after contracting Covid-19. During episodes of Koh-Lanta, The Legend, he made reference to her at times, asking her to help him and give him strength. She was also the one who wore it in 2014. She was suffering from cancer at the time and had given her son the strength necessary to win.
