The international kite festival began on Saturday April 20 in Berck-sur-Mer, in Pas-de-Calais. This unique aerial ballet and its symphony of colors attract hundreds of thousands of spectators every year.
They all have their eyes fixed on the sky, where this Sunday, April 21, an aerial dance is taking place in a symphony of colors and characters. “All these touches of color which liven up the sky, which is unfortunately quite gray today, it’s true that it brings a little joy”, confides a woman. Between Berck-sur-Mer (Pas-de-Calais) and kites, the love story has lasted for 37 years.
A fun sport
Even in the face of headwinds, pulling the strings remains a fun sport. “We remained children, and these are our toys”, rejoices an amateur. These international meetings, which will last more than a week, are also a boon for certain traders. This is the case of Jérémy Leleu, who in his shop sells nearly 100 kites per day. “We really have everything”, he assures. Something to delight young and old.
