(El Segundo) The Los Angeles Kings signed forward Trevor Moore to a five-year, $21 million contract on Thursday.
Moore, who is a Southern California native, was acquired from the Toronto Maple Leafs in a February 2020 trade. He is now under contract through the end of the 2027-28 season.
The 27-year-old Moore has seven goals and 11 assists in 32 games this season with the Kings, who started the day ranked third in the Western Conference.
Moore, who grew up in Thousand Oaks, had 107 points in five NHL seasons with the Kings and Maple Leafs. The Toronto team signed him to a contract in July 2016, after his time at Denver University.
Moore has developed as a key two-way player for the Kings, who ended a three-season drought without making the playoffs last spring.
Moore would have become an unrestricted free agent in the summer of 2023, having pocketed $1.875 million that season.
