Quick stopped 31 shots to sign his 10and career shutout in the playoffs. He played the entire second game where he allowed six goals on 36 shots and started the third game where he was kicked out of the game after allowing four goals on 17 shots.

The Oilers, who scored at least one goal per game on the power play in the first three games and posted a 45% success rate in those, failed to flash the red light on three occasions Sunday .

Smith stopped 42 shots in the loss.

The series heads to Edmonton for Game 5 on Tuesday. The clubs will return to Los Angeles for Game 6 on Thursday.

Trevor Moore opened the scoring halfway through a superb play from Phillip Danault, who rounded Mike Smith before returning the puck to his teammate who took advantage of an abandoned net.

A few minutes later, Troy Stecher doubled the lead with a point shot that deflected off the stick of Oilers defenseman Duncan Keith, before finding the back of the net.

Carl Grundstrom, who missed Game 3, put the final nail in the Oilers’ coffin by scoring late in the third period. Darnell Nurse pushed the Kings forward to the ground, who collided with Smith and the puck found its way behind the red line. The Oilers contested the goal, but lost their appeal.

Grundstrom scored with 1:31 left in an empty net, his second of the game.
