Fans of Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 have been disappointed to learn that Warhorse Studios has no plans for a remaster of the original game. While acknowledging the community’s desire for an updated version, the studio is focused on completing Kingdom Come Deliverance 2, which is expected to wrap up by the end of the year. With a growing team and new content on the way, anticipation for the sequel remains high as public testing is set to begin on Steam.
Kingdom Come Deliverance 2: No Remaster in Sight
For devoted fans of Kingdom Come Deliverance 2, recent news may feel like a heavy blow to their hopes for a much-desired project. Despite the clamor for a remastered or revamped version of the original game, Warhorse Studios, the creative force behind both Kingdom Come titles, has firmly stated that there are no such plans on the horizon—unless a significant change occurs.
In a recent conversation with the YouTube channel SxyBiscuit, it was revealed that Warhorse Studios is fully aware of the fans’ desire for a refreshed take on the original Kingdom Come Deliverance. However, as articulated by Sir Tobi, the studio’s public relations director, the studio is not currently considering revisiting the first installment.
“At this moment, we are not looking into any form of remaster or remake for Kingdom Come: Deliverance 1. I understand that our most passionate fans would love to see it, but unless we receive a proposal for something like a Switch version, I don’t see us pursuing this,” Tobi explained.
Exciting Developments Ahead for Kingdom Come Deliverance 2
While this news may dampen spirits, there are still rays of hope on the horizon for fans eager for new content. The studio has ambitious plans for the future, including clarity on when the development of Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 will conclude.
Tobi mentioned that the studio is currently operating with around 250 employees, all of whom are either addressing bugs in Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 or developing additional downloadable content. The studio aims to expand its workforce to over 300, which could enable them to juggle multiple projects simultaneously. “By the end of this year, we hope to wrap up KCD2 and shift our focus to new ventures,” he added.
This indicates that Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 is set to be completed within this year, paving the way for new projects. Given the positive reception of Warhorse Studios’ initiatives, this news is likely to be well-received by the community.
As the gaming landscape continues to evolve, studios like FromSoftware have set the stage for the soulslike genre, making it challenging for new titles to emerge without comparison. Nonetheless, the anticipation for a new entry in this beloved franchise is palpable, with public testing soon to commence on Steam. Fans can look forward to an exciting return that promises to be distinct and ambitious.
