King Charles III to be hospitalized for an enlarged prostate

Buckingham Palace announced on Wednesday that the 75-year-old sovereign would go to hospital at the end of January “for a corrective procedure”.

The 75-year-old king will be hospitalized during the week of January 22 for “a corrective procedure” linked to “an enlarged prostate”announced Buckingham Palace on Wednesday January 17. “The king’s public engagements will be postponed for a short recovery period”specifies the text.

“What His Majesty is suffering from is benign”provide the services of the king, emphasizing that such hypertrophy affects “thousands of men every year”. Prostate enlargement is a very common pathology in men of a certain age and which, if left untreated, can lead to a progressive deterioration in bladder function, as well as urinary infections.

This is the first time since his accession to the throne, on September 8, 2022, that the palace publicly discusses the state of health of the sovereign. This announcement comes as Princess Kate, wife of Prince William, is hospitalized for at least 10 days in London after a successful abdominal operation.
