King Charles III spent his second day at the London Clinic in London (United Kingdom), Saturday January 27, after having undergone prostate surgery the day before. On Friday, the 75-year-old king arrived at this establishment in the company of Queen Camilla, where Kate, the wife of Crown Prince William, who underwent abdominal surgery last week, is also hospitalized. In the afternoon, Camilla then told people inside the clinic that Charles “was fine”, according to British media. It was not specified when it would be released. The British king received a visit from Camilla on Saturday midday for about three hours.
Buckingham Palace announced last week its diagnosis of enlarged prostate, in order to encourage screening for this very common pathology in men of a certain age and generally not serious. The palace insisted on the routine nature of this procedure which affects “thousands of men every year”. Charles III, who succeeded Elizabeth II in September 2022, canceled several public engagements last week to rest. He will have to observe, after his operation, “a short period” convalescence, the duration of which was not specified.
Kate’s health concerns public opinion
Princess Kate, 42, has been hospitalized since January 16 at the London Clinic. The pathology from which she suffers has not been revealed. The services of the princely couple assured that his abdominal surgical operation had taken place “with success” and demanded respect for his private life, demanding “that their personal medical information remains confidential”. The only information that the monarchy let leak: it is not cancer.
On January 17, the princely couple’s services indicated that she would have to stay in hospital for ten to fourteen days. She will probably not resume her public activities before the end of March. Prince William has canceled many public engagements while she recovers from her operation.
