The wait is almost over. Kim Clavel will step back into the ring on April 21 at the Casino de Montreal, for her highly anticipated World Championship bout against Mexico’s Yesenia Gomez.

This WBC-sanctioned mid-flyweight clash was postponed twice. Clavel and Gomez were to enter the ring on December 17, but the Quebecer was injured during her training camp. Then it was Gomez’s turn to ask for more time.
Clavel’s hasty victory on Friday night at the Cabaret du Casino, a fitness fight against the Bolivian Mariela Valverde, therefore confirmed the upcoming fight.
Groupe protege Yvon Michel won after four rounds after her opponent retired. She thus remained undefeated, with a record of 15-0 and 3 KOs.
She will therefore put on her gloves in six weeks against Yesenia Gomez (19-5, 6 KOs).
