Khaled: What becomes of the star singer of the 90s?

A fan of corgis, the iconic Spice Girls, Princess Diana and a follower of tea time, Tom Spencer particularly likes to relate the life of the members of the British crown but is never against a short detour across the Atlantic.

Saturday June 11, DJ Snake had thousands of spectators dancing at the Parc des Princes in Paris. For the occasion, the artist was surrounded by surprise guests on stage, including raï singer Khaled. Now 62 years old, he has somewhat disappeared from the radar. What becomes of it?

A gigantic concert and guests galore. The popular DJ Snake wowed the public at the Parc des Princes on Saturday June 11. If the crowd savored his hits, we were also able to witness a kind of life-size karaoke when the singer Khaled landed and performed his flagship title: Aisha. A surprise appearance since it must be recognized that the Algerian artist has somewhat disappeared from our radars.

If Khaled, whose real name is Khaled Hadj Ibrahim, no longer really agitates charts it does not mean that he no longer sings! His last hit dates back to 2012 with the release of That’s life, whose clip has about 80 million views on Youtube. In recent years, you could hear it on the tracks Wahda Be Wahda (in 2016), Mirage feat Soolking (in 2018) or even Maghrib Gang with Farid Bang and French Montana (in 2019)… More recently, he released the title Her name is Beirut fet Rodge, in 2020, in tribute to the Lebanese people after the tragedy linked to the explosion in the city’s port. The artist, who had participated in the concert organized by France 2, then announced on his Facebook page that all profits would be donated to the Lebanese Red Cross.

Khaled, who had experienced some setbacks with justice around the paternity of the tube Didi, therefore continues to sing and perform on stage. Including when life is not kind to him. Indeed, when he appeared at the Parc des Princes, he did not let anything show, but he was a man in mourning … As reported by the site Dzair Daily, he lost his mother Khadidja, who died on June 7. “I thank everyone who shared words of condolence and prayers for the deceased, my mother. I tell you, may God bring you the greatest reward“, he said in a message posted on his Instagram account after the death of his mother.

Faced with this blow, the singer can however count on his clan. As we discover on Instagram, in a publication dated 2019, he is a happy and married man. With his very discreet wife named Samira, he became a father of 5 children.
