The French decathlete validated his ticket for the 2024 Olympics in Paris, thanks to his fifth place during the European Championships in Rome, Tuesday June 11.
No medal around his neck, but the important thing was elsewhere, for Kevin Mayer. Launched into a race against time to have the right to line up during the Paris Olympic Games, the leader of French athletics did not miss his meeting in the Roman arena. Monday June 10 and Tuesday June 11, Kevin Mayer completed 10 events to reach the minimums. 8460 points were necessary, and the Habs did not fail in their calculations despite a complicated 1500 meters. With a total of 8476 points, the minimums are in hand, the final fifth place will remain anecdotal.
