Kevin Lambert wins the Medici Prize for “Let our joy remain”

Quebec writer Kevin Lambert won the Médicis Prize for his novel May our joy remainreports Thursday Weekly Books.

The trade magazine says it received six votes to four in favor Farewell Tangier by Salma El Moumni.

The Medici Prize aims to reward a work whose author has not yet acquired the notoriety corresponding to his talent.

Kevin Lambert, who was also in the running for the Goncourt prize, also won the December prize and the page 111 prize this fall.

In Quebec, his novel received the Ringuet prize from the Academy of Letters and was among the jury selection for the Grand Prix du livre de Montréal.

May our joy remainwhich takes place in the world of architecture and real estate, offers a nuanced and complex reflection on gentrification and the scenarios on which the modes of thought of the dominant classes are erected.
