Severe tornadoes hit five US states, killing nearly 80 people. Journalist Loïc de La Mornais, live from Kentucky on Saturday, December 11, takes stock of the situation.
Kentucky is one of the American states hit Friday, December 10 by violent tornadoes. “The tornado swept away absolutely everything on its route, houses, pontoons of boats, furniture”, reports journalist Loïc de La Mornais. Behind him, a forest has been leveled, a family’s house is destroyed.
“They told us that yesterday around 10 p.m. the children were sleeping, the parents heard the storm coming, they just had time to take their children, to take them down with them in the basement to find refuge there, and a few seconds later there was an absolutely terrible noise, of extreme violence: it is a pontoon of a boat which came to be embedded in their house “, says the journalist. If the family was lucky, several victims are to be deplored. “Tonight across several states in the United States, the toll is still very heavy, and very uncertain”, recalls Loïc de La Mornais.
