Keeper of the Seals Didier Migaud threatens to resign if the Justice budget is not improved

Threat of resignation. Didier Migaud warned Monday October 14 that he would not stay in government if the budget of the Ministry of Justice was not improved. “If we stick to the ceiling letter, yes, I don’t see what I would still do in government”he declared on RTL. The Minister of Justice assured that he trusted Michel Barnier, who told him “gave assurances”.

“I am mobilized so that upward adjustments can be proposed”he insisted. The amount of the justice budget, as made public on Thursday, stands at 10.24 billion euros for 2025, or nearly 500 million euros less than what was initially planned by the law on programming of justice, adopted in October 2023.
